Manchester United and Manchester City both were crowned winners of two of the greatest prizes in English football over the weekend.
Where as their rivals Manchester City won the FA cup final against Stoke City.
United won the league for the forth time in five years on Saturday and it was United’s record
breaking 19th title and their 12th since not only the premier league was made but since Ferguson took charge of the old Trafford ranks.

The clinching of the league title means United are officially the most successful club in English football.
United have overhauled Liverpool’s 18 league title wins with 19 of their own. It’s the first time in the history between the two clubs that united have been ahead of Liverpool with titles.
The irony is that when Ferguson first came to United 25 years ago he promised to knock Liverpool off their perch and make United the most successful team in English football and United have finally achieved that.
Liverpool famously had that banner up at Anfield telling United to come back when they had 18 titles and funny enough United have done that by matching and surpassing Liverpool’s record and setting their own.
Meanwhile closer to home Manchester City will be demanding that United fans take that banner down of 35 years without a trophy directed at City, after they won the FA Cup against stoke on Saturday at Wembley.
Mancini’s men won the game thanks to a goal from Yaya Toure in a game, which City was much the better side and deserved their win.
City had not won the FA cup since 1969 and their resurgence with this FA cup success was a long time coming for the club and its fans.
Mancini also denied City's victory was overshadowed by Manchester United securing the Premier League trophy with the point won in a 1-1 draw against Blackburn minutes before the FA Cup final at Wembley kicked off.
But both sets of fans at Wembley were only concerned about their own team’s match and the possible outcome that ended in favour of man city rather than stoke city.
The Man City owners demanded success on and off the pitch and now that is something which is has happening for the club.
Almost three years after Sheikh Mansour's £300 million worth of investment on the squad has now produced the FA Cup triumph and a place in next seasons UEFA Champions League.
United may have sealed their record 19th league crown this weekend, but their noisy neighbours Man City have plans to build on their recent success with city boss Mancini now keen to challenge their bitter rivals United for the premier league title next season.
So watch this space as Manchester begins its dominance on English football for years to come, because not only is red and blue the words on everyone’s lips but it’s also whose hands are on the trophies.
